Comparative effectiveness research of palm tree pruning waste and geotextiles on subgrade stabilization

This paper proposes a novel and environmentally friendly solution for subgrade stabilization that not only contributes towards waste material recycling but also enhances the bearing capacity of soil. Laboratory plate load tests were conducted under static loads to evaluate potential use palm tree pruning (PTPW) as soil reinforcement instead commercially manufactured geotextiles, well analyse impact depth, number layers, relative density material. The results revealed reinforcements increased, load-bearing pressure behaviour reinforced subgrades improved. Furthermore, when depth decreased, improved significantly. All PTPW-reinforced performed better than geotextile-reinforced same conditions. Additionally, improvement in was evaluated based on factor (BCIF). highest BCIF obtained PTPW used with two layers at sand 80 %.
